Post “Deemer On Technical Analysis”: A Horribly Misleading Title

Our publisher did Susan and me a terrible disservice when they chose “Deemer On Technical Analysis” as the title for our book.

Non-technical people (a/k/a members of the general investment public) take one quick look at the title, “Deemer On Technical Analysis”, and think it’s a geeky book that only practicing technical analysts will be able to understand.

But that isn’t the case at all! “Deemer On Technical Analysis” was written to show members of the general investment public why technical analysis is the most basic part of the whole investment process. This is because people own stocks, not companies, and funds invest in stocks, not the economy, Investors had therefore darn well better analyze the stocks themselves along with the companies they represent – especially since there is hardly a one-to-one correlation between companies and their stocks, as we illustrate in the book.

If the publisher had called it “Deemer On Technical Analysis For Financial Advisors And The Investing Public” potential readers wouldn’t have been turned off by it before they ever took a look inside. As it is, “Deemer On Technical Analysis: is yet another demonstration of “You can’t judge a book by its cover”.
